Welcome to work-ready.ca. By accessing this website, enrolling in our programs, or using our services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read carefully.
1. Scope of Services

work-ready.ca provides career coaching, mentorship, training, and professional development services.

Services may include career planning, resume/cover letter reviews, LinkedIn optimization, interview preparation, networking strategies, and related coaching.

No Guarantee: While designed to improve employability and job readiness, we do not guarantee employment, job offers, admissions, salary increases, or specific outcomes. Success depends on individual effort, participation, market conditions, and employer decisions beyond our control.
2. Eligibility

Services are available to students, newcomers, immigrants, and professionals.

You must be 18 years or older to participate. If under 18, you may only enroll with written parental/guardian consent.

Free pro bono assistance is available to refugees and financially disadvantaged newcomers, subject to eligibility review.
3. Client Responsibilities
By enrolling, you agree to:

Participate fully, attend scheduled sessions, and complete assignments.

Provide accurate, truthful, and complete information about your background and goals.
-
Take responsibility for your own job applications, career choices, and outcomes.
-
Maintain respectful, professional communication with coaches, mentors, and peers.
Failure to meet these responsibilities may reduce program effectiveness, and work-ready.ca will not be held liable for missed opportunities.
4. Communication Consent

By enrolling, you consent to being contacted by work-ready.ca and its representatives through phone calls, emails, video conferencing, social media messaging, or other digital communication channels for the purpose of delivering services.

All communication will remain professional and directly related to program services. Clients are responsible for ensuring contact information is current and accessible.
5. Professional Boundaries & Conduct

Interactions between clients and work-ready.ca staff, mentors, and affiliates must remain strictly professional.

Flirting, sexual advances, dating requests, harassment, or any inappropriate personal conduct is strictly prohibited.

If a client engages in such behavior, services may be terminated immediately without refund, and work-ready.ca will bear no liability for the client’s actions.

Clients acknowledge that mentors act solely in a professional capacity.
6. Boundaries of Communication & Liability

All interactions between work-ready.ca mentors and clients are intended to remain professional and focused solely on the delivery of services.

While professional coaching relationships may sometimes lead to personal connections such as friendships or networking, any interaction outside the defined scope of career coaching services is considered personal and voluntary.
Clients acknowledge and agree that:

work-ready.ca cannot and will not be held responsible for any friendships, social interactions, or personal relationships that develop outside the scope of services.

work-ready.ca is not liable for romance, flirting, dating, or consensual activity that occurs outside the program’s professional boundaries.
-
work-ready.ca shall not be held liable for sexual misconduct, harassment, or related claims where such allegations arise from client-initiated or consensual interactions beyond the professional context.

The client assumes full responsibility for any such actions or communications outside the program.
7. Fees & Payments

All fees must be paid in full before participation begins, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Non-Refundable Policy: All payments are non-refundable, except where consumer protection laws require.
-
Clients waive any right to chargebacks, payment disputes, or reversals once services have been accessed.
-
Discontinuing participation does not entitle clients to refunds, credits, or program transfers.
-
Discounts, scholarships, or pro bono services are offered at the sole discretion of work-ready.ca and may be modified or revoked.
8. Cancellations & Termination

Clients may cancel participation at any time; however, no refunds will be provided.

work-ready.ca reserves the right to terminate services without refund if:

A client provides false or misleading information.
-
A client engages in disrespectful, disruptive, harassing, or inappropriate conduct.
-
A client misuses program resources or violates intellectual property rights.
-
9. Confidentiality & Data Protection

We protect the confidentiality of your personal information and career data.

We may disclose information only if required by law.

Clients agree not to disclose, reproduce, or distribute proprietary program materials without written permission from work-ready.ca.
10. Intellectual Property

All program content, templates, videos, guides, and materials are the exclusive property of work-ready.ca.
-
Clients are granted a limited, non-transferable license for personal career development use only.
-
Materials may not be reproduced, sold, or distributed without prior written approval.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:

work-ready.ca, its coaches, mentors, and affiliates are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of services.
-
This includes but is not limited to: lost job opportunities, lost income, delayed job placement, rejection by employers, or dissatisfaction with outcomes.

Our total liability, if any, is strictly limited to the amount of fees you paid for the specific program.

Clients acknowledge that mentors act solely in a professional coaching capacity, and work-ready.ca is not responsible for personal, social, romantic, or inappropriate actions initiated by clients.
12. Indemnification
Clients agree to indemnify and hold harmless work-ready.ca, its staff, and affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from the client’s:

Misuse of services,

Breach of these Terms,
-
Misconduct, or
-
Actions outside the professional scope of services.
13. Non-Disparagement
Clients agree not to make defamatory, disparaging, or false statements about work-ready.ca, its staff, or services in any medium (including online reviews or social media). Constructive feedback should be provided directly through official channels.
14. Force Majeure
work-ready.ca shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform services due to causes beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, government restrictions, illness, strikes, power outages, or internet disruptions.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms & Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the client and work-ready.ca and supersede all prior discussions, promises, or representations, whether written or oral.
17. No Legal, Immigration, or Financial Advice

Our services are limited to career development coaching.

We do not provide legal, immigration, financial, or tax advice. Clients requiring such advice should consult licensed professionals.
18. Program Availability & Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any program, service, or resource without notice.

Coaches, mentors, or session formats may be substituted if necessary.
19. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of British Columbia.
20. Updates
work-ready.ca may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
